Registration is now open on NIRMA’s website for our regional Spotlight Seminar Series. Rob Keith, a dynamic and well-respected mainstay speaker at NIRMA events, will be the keynote presenter guiding the way. He will team up with civil litigation attorney Jeff Kirkpatrick to impart practical guidance on individual First Amendment freedoms and how they impact county operations, including the Constitutional considerations involved in personnel decisions, conducting Open Meetings, handling public records requests, managing potential visits from so-called First Amendment Auditors, and navigating other day-to-day work challenges.

Mindful of how one’s work habits can impact their overall health and wellness, Hannah Guenther, Nebraska County Extension Educator, will add a critical component to the agenda with a session designed to help attendees recognize and overcome their stress triggers. Chad Engle, NIRMA Loss Prevention Manager, and Brandy Johnson, NIRMA Communication and Learning Manager, will also share their respective inside looks at how the assistance NIRMA provides can make a difference in members’ risk management efforts, including through Safety Committee activities and the ability to quickly access online resources.

This seminar is open to all NIRMA member employees and officials with no fee charged to attend. Consistent with tradition, we intend to provide a delicious lunch and morning/afternoon refreshments on site at each of the five locations.

Up to 6.5 hours of continuing education credits are available for participating county attorneys, district court clerks, treasurers, certified law enforcement officers, dispatchers, assessors, and human resources personnel, along with a pending preapproval of credits for highway superintendents.

It will be well worth the investment of time this April to attend NIRMA’s Spotlight Seminar Series, with its unique opportunity to discover The Power of You.  We hope to see you there!
