This year’s annual Self Defense for County Officials Conference, exclusively for NIRMA members, is scheduled Oct. 24-25, 2024 at Younes Conference Center North in Kearney.

Member walk-ins may be accepted on a limited basis, please check in at the registration desk. Written materials may not be available for late or walk-in registrants.

We are pleased to announce our keynote speaker, Nick Lavery, an active duty Green Beret whose inspiring message is sure to be an amazing kick off and lead-in to a total of 19 different sessions with top quality educational content.
Returning speaker Pam Bourne will present on the latest on employment and labor law topics, while on Friday, members will have the opportunity to hear Rob Keith’s newest session, Affliction to Audacity. Immediately following will be the Association Membership Meeting including an election for seats on the NIRMA Board of Directors and an anticipated distribution of dividends to eligible members, pending approval of the Department of Insurance.

**Continuing education credits are approved as follows:
– Up to 9.25 hours MCLE for attorneys
– Up to 9.25 hours credit for District Court Clerks
– Up to 4.5 hours credit for Assessors for select sessions
– Up to 9.0 hours for Treasurers
– Up to 9.25 hours for certified law enforcement/corrections officers and dispatchers
– Up to 8.5 PDH hours for Class A county highway superintendent license renewal for select sessions (Category 1 and 5 credit types available)
– Up to 5 hours for county HR managers toward SHRM and/or HRCI certifications for select sessions
